Born December 2nd, 1999 in Thornton, Colorado, Clayton came into this world larger than life, quite literally, he was over 10 pounds. As he grew up, he was a force to be reckoned with. His voice was loud and his presence was significant. He was loving, kind, funny, curious, inquisitive, opinionated, and so much more.
He graduated from high school in 2018 and went straight into the workforce. In 2021, Clayton made significant changes in his life and began working on the dock at Old Dominion Freight Line. He went on to obtain his Class A CDL and began his driving career with them in 2022. In 2023, he was awarded their 2.OD award recognizing his professionalism, reliability and motivation. He was very proud of this honor. He spent the next couple of years saving his paychecks and purchased his house all on his own in August of 2024. A very proud moment for all of us who love him. The day prior to his tragic passing, he was nominated again for the 2.OD award for going above and beyond for a customer, who quoted that he was one of the most helpful and polite drivers they have dealt with. Again, he would have been beaming with pride to know he was recognized in this way.
His hobbies were more like obsessions and his collection of anime figures is substantial. He immersed himself in all things he was passionate about and there was nothing he didn’t know about history, guns, shooting and the culture of Japan. Since high school, he always had money set aside for his trip to explore the country he was captivated by. He also loved fishing, hunting, camping, concerts, music festivals, UFC fight nights and gaming with his friends.
In summer of 2024, Clayton reconnected with God and his Catholic faith. He began reading scripture daily and communicating with his family about his rekindled faith. In October 2024, he expressed to his Dad that he had a "spiritual event" in his new house that fully opened his eyes. He began researching a new church to establish himself with and had chosen the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. He felt it was a good fit for him and was excited about attending a church with a true Bishop.
Clayton is survived by his parents, Alex and Mary Bucher; his sister, Kori Bucher; his Grandparents, Danny and Karen Bucher, Nancy Adams (Jim) and Glynda D’Ascenz; as well as his Aunties, Uncles, Cousins, his chosen Brothers, many friends and the light of his life, his cat Diesel.
He follows in death his Grandfathers, Russell Tinkey and David Adams and Uncle Don Williams.
Although his time on earth was short, he touched many lives and was deeply loved. Clayton was one of a kind and will live in our hearts and our cherished memories for all eternity.
