Carmelita Maria Garcia

Carmelita grew up on the island of Guam (Barrigada) and graduated from Notre Dame High School. After graduating she married and started a family with Frank Anthony Cruz also from the island. While raising her five children she held numerous administrative positions, the peak being the Administrative Assistant to the Commander of Anderson Air Force Base Yigo, Guam.

Carmelita is survived by countless beloved family. This includes her loving children Duane Cruz (Oregon), Matthew Cruz (Colorado), Gregory Cruz (California), Frank Cruz (Colorado), Carmena Cruz (Colorado) and her precious grandchildren Alena, Alex, Eva and Eric. Carmelita is also survived by her beloved siblings Mike (Lia) Garcia of Colorado, Patricia (Mike) Snell of Virginia, Victor (Lou) Garcia of Guam, Tony (Mary) Garcia of California and Dimetric Garcia of Guam as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Carmelita is preceded in death by her first-born child, Eric.

Family and friends were most important to Carmelita. Her greatest loves were her children and grandchildren. Among Carmelita’s hobbies were her thrifting adventures, crafting and adding to her extensive collection of angel figurines.
