Bernice Mary Pacheco (Archuleta), adored mother, wife and grandmother, went home to Jesus on May 1, 2021, in Thornton, Colorado. She was 65 years old. Born November 5, 1955, in Ouray, Colorado to Carlos Fred Archuleta and Erma Linda Lovato, Bernice was one of 8 children.
She married Florentino Pacheco in Silverton, Colorado on November 26, 1977. They raised Carla and Christina in the Commerce City and Thornton areas of Colorado. Bernice was a mother above all and worked in the dental and medical fields while raising her daughters.
She later became a loving grandmother whose friendship, influence and love left an eternal blessing on her grandchildren Reyna and Johan.
Bernice, known as Bernie or the “Big Bern” was known for her feisty spirit. She was strong and stubborn, always finding a way to stand tall through life’s difficulties. She held onto the Lord in faith. She also had a quick, often biting wit. Yet, she was loving and generous. She enjoyed shopping, Motown and Oldies. One of her favorite things in the world was to hear her grandchildren sing.
Bernice is survived by her husband, Tino, daughter Carla Gallegos, Son in Law Nestor “Ray” Gallegos, daughter Christina Pacheco, Grandchildren, Reyna and Johan Gallegos, Siblings Andy Archuleta, Odelia Cavazos, Johnny Archuleta, Gasper Archuleta, Gilbert Archuleta, Carlos “Ciko” Archuleta, Jr. and Beatrice “Duby” Archuleta, their spouses, as well as several nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
She joined her parents, Carlos and Erma in heaven where she also met her sister in law Sandra Archuleta, her beloved nephew David and her grandpets, Chato and Chulo.
Bernice’s funeral services will be conducted at Olinger Highland Mortuary and Cemetery 10201 Grant ST Thornton, CO 80229. Visitation is from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm on May 6, 2021. The Funeral Service is at 10:00 am on May 7, 2021 and her burial after cremation will be held on May 11, 2021 at 2:00 pm.
