90yrs - March 20, 1934 to March 22, 2024
Northglenn, CO
With profound sadness, we bid farewell to Alice Ruth Abbott, a woman of remarkable strength and resilience, who departed from this world on March 22, 2024. Despite life's adversities, she faced them with unwavering toughness and perseverance. Her indomitable spirit leaves an enduring imprint on all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we navigate the depths of grief, we also celebrate a life defined by strength, fortitude, and enduring love.
As a dedicated mother to her two children, Rob and Teri, Alice's love knew no bounds. She was their guiding light, offering sage advice, unconditional love, and unwavering support throughout their lives.
Alice was a proud Great Grandmother (GG), to her 5 great grand-children (Zyad, Luluwa, Audrey, Dalya, and Shay-Lynn) and Grandmother to her 4 grand-children (Kindra, Brandyn, Janelle, and Brenden), whom she adored beyond measure. She delighted in their laughter, celebrated their achievements, and loved to shower them in toys that she could enjoy with them.
In addition to her immediate family, Alice is survived by her brother, Johnny Rice, who shared a deep bond of love and camaraderie with her throughout their lives.
Alice was an avid crocheter and cross stitcher. She loved teaching her grandchildren these skills and passing on her knowledge. She loved her dolls and toys that surrounded her, adding whimsy to her life and everyone who met her.
Alice’s celebration of life will be held on April 6th at 12pm at Olinger Mortuary (10201 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229)
In lieu of flowers, donations to The Gathering Place (https://tgpdenver.org/) are appreciated.
Alice was a deeply caring and loving woman. She was always ready for conversation over a cold pepsi or sweet tea. Her home became the focal point and home for many. She will be deeply missed and her love and tenacity will continue on to all who had the privilege to know her.
