I remembered long long time ago over 50 years ago, how I wondered why you were look and comparing two apples intently, and then you gave me the bigger apple.....i brought you an apple. Three oranges. One for me and  one for you and one for you later. 
You are missed so much , as my friend, my confidante, and someone whose analysis and common sense approach to things we talked about.

I was meeting with a senior CFIA Inspector yesterday to discuss some compliance issues.  In the course of our conversation, we spoke of those colleagues we knew between us.  This Inspector started at the CFIA just after I left in 1999 and was quite knowledgeable.  Who trained you?, I asked, and she said Yin Lee.  Ah.  Of course.  Yin's the best, a legend.  It was then I was told that Yin left us in 2014.  It was very difficult to finish my meeting with the Inspector... 

Sincerest condolences to the Eng and Lee families on Yin's passing.  She had an enormous impact on all her colleagues, and on all Canadians.

Someone recently posted and I am in tears . I miss you . Always  my best friend for decades. I miss talking with you about everything . I miss your advice . I was saddened to hear of Yins' passing. We worked together along with Doug and Ed on the Allergen Committee. Yin had a passion for life, an infectious laughter, and desire to share a wealth of knowledge! She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure to walk with her along life's pathway.
Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, may looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow.  Life brings tears, smiles and memories. I am truly saddened and shocked to have just learned of the untimely passing of my dear friend Yin.  Please accept my deepest condolences.  Yin and I met at a food safety conference in Savannah, Georgia over 10 years ago.  We weren't attendees, but we were guests and participated in the tourist activities.  We became friends over our shared love of food, cooking, travel and family.  Yin and I maintained our long distance friendship via email, cards and her occasional visits to the states.  Over the years, I have had the pleasure of meeting her husband Mike and on her last visit, I met her mother.  Of course we met over one of her favorite activities-lunch.  I will miss Yin's laughter, her stories of adventure and our cookbook exchanges.  Most of all, I will miss her friendship.  Rest in peace Yin.

I just learned of Yin's passing and wanted to send my condolences to you.  I worked with Yin at Consumer and Corporate Affairs back in the 80's.  She was working in BC and would buzz into town and take us to lunch - looking at the other condolences, it becomes clear that Yin was an expert at lunch!  I also remember her infectious smile and laugh and how she didn't like to make left hand turns, so would drive around making right hand turns until she got where she needed to be!  We were blessed to know her and have her in our lives. She will be greatly missed!

My sincere condolences on your loss. Yin was a wonderful colleague. I met her through my work at CFIA and I always knew that I could count on her when it came to complex training projects. Along with being an expert in her field she was also a devoted trainer and coach. But she was also a dear friend. Any time we travelled or met together for work we wouldn't miss the opportunity to chat about travelling, food and cooking. She was such a generous person. I remember once after a successfully completing a work project for which she was the lead, she brought the entire team to a  Dim Sum restaurant as a treat for us all. She enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. I will forever remember her sweet and joyful smile.

Yin worked in the Vancouver office of the Consumer Products Division (CCAC)in the mid-eighties.  In those days there were still typewriters and I was lucky enough to type more than a few of Mrs. Lee's very detailed, very exact food product label reviews.  It was a great education.  And when she wanted to make changes to something I had already typed, she won my co-operation with her smile.  She had integrity and focus and she improved the people she worked with. Blessings.

Like many others here, I worked with Yin at the CFIA in Guelph for many years.  I was shocked and very saddened to hear of her passing.  I will always remember Yin's smile, the amount of paper on her desk yet she knew where everything was, and the running battles she had with her Cadillac.  I will remember her very fondly.

She was a great friend, very dedicated to her job, her friends, family and was well liked and respected by her colleagues and all those who were fortunate to  interact with her. We travelled to many countries over the years to participate in seminars and meetings and she was always so professional and represented the agency well . She was a great Canadian. It is with great sadness to learn that Yin has passed away.  She was a vibrant, enthusiastic and valuable 35 year member of the Central Atlantic States Association of Milk and Food Sanitarians.  A life-long member of our Executive Board participating in organizing and running our local events, her smile, attitude and photographs will be sadly missed.  As past-president, I know I can speak for the E-Board and the entire organization in extending our deepest condolances to Yin's family for their loss.  For those lucky enough to have ever worked with her on any function in the organization, please know that her cooperation, smile and, yes, her photographs will endure in the organization forever.

Dear Mrs. Eng and family; we can only image your sorrow with the loss of your beautiful daughter Yin. We had known Yin for 39 years as a colleague and a true loyal friend. My condolences to Yin's family. She was a wonderful friend despite the distance and our different career paths. She never failed to keep in touch and I will always cherish her friendship and her positive influence, especially on my cooking. She was one of a kind and I will miss her dearly.

Yin was the one person to whom I could always turn with a question about contamination of prepared or processed foods, even if she was on assignment to Headquarters. She always greeted our questions with grace and humour, and frequently pointed us in investigative directions that resolved our cases much more quickly. Whenever I saw her in Guelph she would offer new dining recommendations and we'd catch up on the latest news.  All through the years she was quick to offer a smile or her infectious laugh.  I will miss her very much.

We first met Yin 28 years ago, when she rented a cottage on Salt Spring Island for Pauline and Sid and us to stay at. Christopher, our first born son was only 5 months old then. We have great memories with various family travels with Yin, such as Winchester (Virginia),Williamsburg (Virginia),Orlando (Florida)and the Caribbean cruise. She made me feel like I was another Eng sister.
Yin was a joy to be with and we both enjoyed culinary cuisine, collecting  cookbooks and the consummate bargain shopping.
We will miss Yin but we will always have the many special memories of the time spent with her.

I worked with Yin for a number of years and she was a delightful person with constant energy and desire to offer help. She was our go to person for any policy question or simply to bounce ideas on but above all she was a dear friend. We looked forward to Yin's visits to Ottawa as it was an opportunity to get all together in our busy lives, go out for Asian food dinners, with lots of laughers and catching up to do. My sincere condolences. I met Yin in Guelph in the 90s through a project in Jamaica. She was energetic, efficient and a wonderful and cheerful person as a friend. All our counterparts and myself respected and appreciated her professionalism and sincere willingness to provide help in anything related to food or technical issues. Certainly, it is very sad that she can not be longer with us.   God bless her soul and her family.

I'm sorry to hear about the passing of Yin. She was always  bringing smiles to everyone she encountered. 

I want you to know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Yin & I were about the same age and workplace longevity, having started with the long defunct Department of Consumer & Corporate Affairs, some 33 years ago. I was always impressed with her encyclopedic mastery of technical knowledge, her outstanding professionalism and her quiet and understated sense of humour. Although we shared some vigorous discussions on the intent of various policies and the  implementation direction of the CFIA, Yin always was persuasive in her kind and gentle manner. 

Of course, I will, like many commenting here, miss her greatly. Far more importantly, Canadian society will miss her positive impact on their lives!

She was a wonderful person, respected by many for her extensive knowledge and her kind and generous nature. I always enjoyed seeing her in person and chatting with her when she came to Ottawa. She will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Dear Mrs. Eng and family, I am so sorry for your great loss.
I have worked with Yin for numerous years but the best times were after work when we would go out to eat.  It didn't matter what city we were in she always knew where the best restaurants were.  She really got me to love authentic Chinese food.  After I retired I would occasionally drop in to Guelph and we would go out for lunch or supper.  She always treated me with the biggest smile and a hug as if I was her only friend, but I knew she was that way with everyone.  Mrs Eng I will always treasure Yin in my heart and think of her often.

Dear Mrs. Eng,
Yin was my dearest friend.  Yin made the world a better and kinder place.  She had a joie de vivre and unstoppable energy.  She had a generosity of spirit and helped so many people.   She always included the shy person or the lonely person in the social activities she organised so very regularly.  She was the glue that kept friends together and in touch.  She will be greatly missed.  Her legacy is in how she touched people's lives.  This type of legacy keeps on giving and will have impacts for years to come.  I will miss her sorely.  I will look back on our time together, and cherish my memories of our trips, our girls' nights out, and work projects.
