I am sorry to hear of the passing of Dr. Tim Purves, and am very sorry for the family of Dr. Purves: Patti, their children, and grand-children.

Dr. Purves was my dentist from when I moved to Toronto around 1980, to when he retired.  He was a wonderful dentist!  He was always interested in his patients, and their well-being.  He shared many stories of his travels to Arizona, and a Greece-themed party at the cottage.  Clearly the family had fun together!

In honour of Dr. Purves I will make a donation to Bridgepoint Health.

Thoughts from the Byers family for your loss. Dr Purves was a great dentist for us, made the kids feel welcome, and we always looked forward to catching up on news from the Purves',  I've never looked forward to seeing the dentist since! He will be missed.  


I was truly sad to hear of the passing of Tim. My deepest condolences to Patti and the family. Sorry, I was not able to give my condolences in person. Although, our paths did not cross a lot after graduating from U of T.,the times we did spend together we're always enjoyable. Tim, as always was genuinely interested in what his friends were doing and in their health and welfare. The world has truly lost a magnificent person .I will always remember good thoughts and good memories of time spent with a wonderful friend. Gone too soon.

Dr. Purves was my dentist for over 30 years and he took care of my daughters as well until his retirement.  He was a warm and caring man and the tribute to him sums up what I will remember about him. His positivity, stories about his travels, (as well as his excellent travel tips), his love of his cottage and his cars, as well as his appreciation of Seinfeld, always made our visits pleasurable.  But beyond this, his love of his wife, family and grandchildren was always evident.  What a wonderful man... He will be forever in our hearts and memories.

Tim was an excellent dentist, but more than that, he was a caring, warm human being.
He loved his family and people in general. It was always a pleasure to go to the dentist,to be be greeted by Tim's cheerful face and happy disposition.

Patti and family : Our thoughts are with you as you navigate this very difficult time 
Brian and I were in Dr Tim's care since the early 1970's until he had to leave his practice. Our two boys were also in his care until they left home for university. As well as being our dentist we also thought of him as a friend. We  talked about  our mutual interests - golf, skiing, Atlantic shellfish, traveling and most of all our children and grandchildren. Although we never met Laura and Glenn we felt we knew them as he talked about them, as well as Patti so much over the years. We always traded stories about our grandchildren and how they added so much joy to our lives. He will be missed

Tim was somewhat of an idol to me at York Mills Collegiate and along with Jim before him, was our family dentist for some time until we moved---our sincerest condolences---a good guy-- gone but not forgotten easily.

My wife Darlene and I were patients of Dr. Purves for over 25 years and it was always a pleasure to see him.  We will never forget his genuine kindness and warmth and most of all his smile. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. He will be greatly missed.
 

Dr. Purves was our dentist for over 20 years. He took great care of our teeth; also, his friendly nature and sunny optimism made going to the dentist something to be looked forward to rather than avoided. We will miss him and our thoughts are with his loved ones at this time.

I was deeply saddened to receive the news of Tim’s passing. 
Tim had been a great friend for many years, starting with our high school days, football and track and field at York Mills Collegiate.
I will always remember our trip to New York in his Volkswagen beatle in the spring of our grade 13 year. It was a great adventure.
He was a true gentleman and a fun and caring host for the many times we were together at your cottage. 
Sadly Tim and I lost contact over the past 17 years.

Tim was not only a wonderful friend and family man.  He was the best boss ever. Tim always had time to talk and to listen to each and every person that came into his office. There was never a day that I felt like I was going in to “work”. I feel very blessed to have been a part of his practice for 27 years, and I will miss my friend every day.
