Our family has lost a precious gift with the sudden passing of Stefan Charles Sikstrom. A man who loved big family meals, but dreaded the sight of vegetables. He loved life and always prioritized spending time with those he loved – and he was loved by many. His bear hugs, big grin and infectious laugh would lighten even the most pessimistic among us. His honesty and optimism would ensure that anyone who met him would learn to appreciate life in that moment.
Mourned by the light of his life, his wife Melissa Lynch, his father Mark Sikstrom, his mother Judy Fantham (David Hillock), older brother Matt (Mindy) and their children Kaylin and Jett, middle brother Kent (always “Kenny” to Stef), his grandparents Helen and Ray Fantham as well as step-sisters April and Daina Hillock. Missed by Melissa’s family, her mother Rita Lynch, her father Robert Lynch (Kim Daries), her brothers Andrew and Aaron and grandparents Mike (Stef’s “buddy”) and Diane Lynch and Jacob Ammar. Grieving too are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Stefan’s life burned brightly. His brightness will shine for all time.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Rick and Tina Fantham, Dr. David A. Steven, and RNs Joanne Wilkinson and Titto Chickee who supported us with their insights, compassion and big shoulders through Stefan’s final days. We would also like to acknowledge Stefan’s colleagues and employer at Mestek Canada especially Manny DaSilva, who modelled the way with support so Stef could lead a productive work life despite his epilepsy.
