February 2, 1942-November 21, 2024
Having returned home during the pandemic after twenty-five years of living a life of sun and sand on the island of Providenciales in The Turks and Caicos Islands, Ralph departed one final time at the age of 82 to avoid another nasty Canadian winter. Predeceased by his father, Ralph Sr., with whom he worked closely for many years, and his mother, Ferne, who passed away in 2022 at the age of 101, he leaves behind his wife, Josiane, who took care of him with great love, especially during the last decade, which brought on numerous health challenges. His son, Derek (Julie), and brother, Carl (Dianne) will miss a lifetime of his (mostly funny) jokes, while grandson Charlie will always remember Grandpa Ralph assuring him math grades weren’t important – he was terrible at it, too. Ralph’s stepchildren, Jerome and Jessica, have also been a big part of his life, especially in Orillia, where he spent his final years. A major player in the audio electronics business, Ralph brought several prominent lines to Canada, including Maxell cassette and video tapes in the 1980s. On Saturday, December 7, visitation will begin at 10:00 am, with a farewell and celebration of Ralph’s remarkable life beginning at 11:00 am at Kane-Jarrett Funeral Home, 8088 Yonge Street, Thornhill. Reception to follow. Condolences may be made at www.kanejerrett-thornhill.ca.
