Mike was a kind and gentle soul, as Robert said so beautifully today.I remember him and Aline from UWO Alumni Lectures. May he . rest in peace.

To the family of Mike; We learned today, while still at our winter home in Naples, of the passing of your father and our dear friend. We were close friends of Mike and Aline for many years. Micheline took many courses with Aline at York University and Glendon College, sharing much in common, including their French heritage. To the family of Mike Kirwin Very sorry indeed to learn of Mike's death. Please accept my sincere condolence. I had the great fun and privilege of working with Mike at Imperial Oil in the early sixties; first as a summer student and eventually as a full time employee. Mike was a great mentor and team player with a terrific sense of humour and an ever-willing desire to help. .. on and off the job. I recall many a chuckle as a result of listening to Mike 'mumble' about adventures caused by his itinerant tenants at some building he owned along St. Clair. He said it was worth the hassle because they were mostly Aussie and they just passed the word along to their friends so he never had to 'advertise'. So, on top of all the other good things, he was a very pragmatic businessman .. and he shared that experience with all of us and we are all the better for it. May he rest in peace and may all of you find solace in reflecting on his life so well-lived. David Sadleir

Dear family of Michael and Aline May I exend my sincere sympathies to you all with the loss of such a fine man. I can only speak from a perspective of his contribution to Imperial Oil when he worked with me in the late 1960's to implement an extensive computer system. He was a bright light of enthusiasm and wisdom as he made a major contribution to our success by focusing us on business objectives, an area of team weakness before his arrival. We travelled together extensively to learn about the business as our friendship developed. We saw each other several times after the project and he and Aline graciously entertained us in their lovely home. I have very fond memories of Mike and I am sorry to read the obituary e-mailed through the Annuitant Club. He has risen to join his dear wife Aline. May God Bless you all Peter
