Mary Margaret McAteer

(nee Kelly) Suddenly at home on March 23, 2009. Beloved mother of Gregory, sister of Patricia Massel, and sister-in-law of Jack McAteer and Maureen Brady. Predeceased by Peter McAteer. Wonderful "Aunt Mary" and "Great Aunt Mary" to the Massel, Brayley, Skinner, Brady and McAteer families. Mary grew up in Simcoe, Ontario the daughter of David and Louella Kelly. She attended St. Joseph's High School in Toronto. She worked as an X-ray technician at the Toronto East General and St. Michael's Hospital where she made lifelong friends. Mary and Greg spent Christmas and summer holidays at Pine Lodge with the Massels for many years. She had a great sense of humour. She loved going to movies and playing bridge. Mary was a devoted parishioner of St. Edward's parish for more than 50 years. She will be missed. Friends may call on Thursday, March 26, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 27, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Edward the Confessor R. C. Church(75 Churchill Avenue). Cremation. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation.
