Margaret Raymond passed away peacefully on June 12, 2024 at the Humber Heights Assisted Living Facility in Toronto. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Stanley, whom she was married to for 64 years. She is survived by her four children, Susan Fowler, Allan, Donald and Anne Raymond and son-in-law Dalton Fowler. Margaret is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Timothy, Michael, Lauren, Emily, Derrick, Mark, Matthew, Cameron, Daniel, Julia, and Jack; and eleven great-grandchildren, Madeline, Harrison, Quinn, Benjamin, Margo Phoebe, Felicity, Rose, Hannah, Maxwell, and Thomas. She was pre-deceased by brothers Lloyd and Gordon Brown, sister, Jean Warden, and sisters-in-law Peggy Laundrie and Kathleen (Kitty) Lewis.
Margaret grew up just outside Paisley, Ontario and after high school went on to Guelph General Hospital to attend nursing training and became a Registered Nurse. Her later nursing career took her to Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital (formerly York Central) where she enjoyed a fulfilling career on the obstetrics “Labour and Delivery” floor for over 25 years. The staff were incredible colleagues and dear friends. Margaret loved to sing and belonged to many choirs including Holy Trinity choir, the Joy Bells, and the Richmond Hill senior choir. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and celebrating the many special occasions and especially impromptu sing-alongs at any family gathering. The family would like to thank Humber Heights and the dedicated nursing and caregiving staff for their compassion and excellent care.
The urn burial for Margaret will take place on Saturday, July 2024 at 10am at Elgin Mills Cemetery. There will be a short service at the graveside.
A Celebration of Life reception will be held at the Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home, 8088 Yonge St, Thornhill (south of Hwy 7) on Saturday, July 20th from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Refreshments will be served at 12 p.m. with Family Remarks at 1 p.m.
