Joseph was the caring and providing father of five children. Gavin (deceased) (Barbara), Paul, Lawrence (Anita), Gary (Sara) and Jacqueline. Grandpa to Simone, Brandon, Galyn, Serena, Olivia, Brittany, Nathaniel, and Alessandra. Great grandpa to Holly, Astrid and Valentina.
He is predeceased by his brother Lloyd. Uncle to his “favourite” nieces Sandra, Sharon, Susanne, Sabrina, and “favourite” nephew Michael.
Joseph, fondly called “Joe”, worked tirelessly. He always had stories of his childhood, growing up as an altar boy, his time working on a ship, as a technician for Singer sewing machines, and about his life here in Canada working at Westinghouse. Joe was handy as he was always tinkering with something in his garage or basement, if it was broken he would fix it.
Joe loved playing and watching football (soccer) as well as boxing. He loved being outside doing simple things, gardening, boating, fishing or just sitting on the deck enjoying quiet time. Joe’s presence was silent, and always embraced by his countless friends “shooting the breeze” and sipping scotch.
Joe passed peacefully, two days after celebrating his 92nd birthday, at Mackenzie Health Hospital in Richmond Hill. He will always be remembered for his silent, but powerful presence. God called him home to rest in eternal peace.
