Passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Ajax-Pickering Hospital - Rouge Valley at the age of 61. Dearly loved son of Elsie and the late Jack Spears (2009). Beloved husband of the late Helen Spears (2003). Loving Dad of Doug Jr., Ian (Valerie), Len (Heather) and David (Jennifer). Doug will be greatly missed by his brother Tim (Sharon) and by all of his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Doug was a member of the Pickering Lawn Bowling Club. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 21st from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 22nd at 11 a.m. in the Chapel. Interment to follow at York Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation.
