With great sorrow we announce the passing of Jeanne, wife of Frank J. Horgan, on Sunday, March 24, 2013. Jeanne was the mother of 8 children, Frank Jr., Paul (Cathy), Gregory (Teresa), Michael (Elizabeth), Patrick (Annemieke), Philip (Christine), Maureen (Klaus) Stitz, and Theresa (Ian) Gray. Mourning her are her grandchildren, Dan (Kim) and Julia; Bryan and Thomas; Adam and Kathleen; Meaghan (Adam), Kevin, and Ben; Brendan, Madeline, Patrick, Veronica, and Mary Grace; Kieran, Shannon, Cameron, and Kaitlin; and Matthew, Nicholas, Claire, Leah, and Hannah and her great-granddaughter Maeve. Survived by her siblings and in-laws Frances Carney, Mary Stuart, Michael and Colette Keogh, Peggy Keogh, Janice and Gerry Bryan, D'Arcy Drury, Frances Horgan, and Gerald and Roberta Horgan. Predeceased by Mary (baby) and Lucy Keogh, Theresa and Jack Wilson, Paul Keogh, Fred Carney, Al Stuart, Maureen Horgan, Harold and Gertrude Horgan, Gregory Horgan, and Barbara Drury.
Jeanne attended St. Joseph's Wellesley, was employed by Garden City Press until her marriage in 1952. Jeanne and Frank are original and lifelong parishioners of St. Bonaventure's in Don Mills, where Jeanne was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis, and a lifetime member and Past President of its Catholic Women's League. Deeply rooted in her faith, and known for her hospitality, Jeanne will enjoy a warm embrace from her Creator. We appreciate all of Jeanne's caregivers at Briton House, Sunnybrook, and especially Sweetie Gaudite in her final days.
Friends may call on Monday, March 25, 2013 from 7-9 p.m. & Tuesday, March 26, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. at The Franciscan Church of St. Bonaventure (1300 Leslie Street). Interment St. James Cemetery, Colgan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Attn: de Paul House.
