She journeyed to Canada with sister Kay in 1946 after the war. As 'belle of the ball' at the famous Palais Royale captured the eye and heart of Edwin Argall. They married the summer of 1949 and began family life. Son Charles was followed by Gary, Janice and finally Patricia. Tragedy came when Ed died suddenly in 1961 leaving Gloria with four young children and a broken heart.
As she did throughout her life Gloria carried on, drawing on her tremendous inner strength. She had to do that again in 1993 when her loving son, Gary, died before his time. Over and over again Gloria set an example of principled strength, courage and determination for her family and friends. For the last two years Gloria has developed a second family - the good people at Cummer Lodge where she has been happy and well loved.
If immortality is measured by memories, Gloria will live forever.
She will be missed.
