He rejoins the love of his life, Joan (“Nan”) who passed away a mere 6 weeks earlier. He was a devoted and engaging father to Daniel (Penney), Paul (Cindy Lyman), Peter (Marianne) and Donna (Bruce Magee). George was predeceased by his brothers Frank (Betty) and Bill (Peggy). A legacy of 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren remains, all with loving memories of his humour and kindness.
A third generation George, his name lives on in his son Daniel Bruce George and great-grandchildren Hayden Robert George and Sloane Georgie. George dedicated his work life as a chartered accountant with Grafton Group, rising to Vice-President of Finance and CFO, maintaining lifelong bonds of friendship and professionalism until his passing.
George loved spending time with his beloved Joan, and the family, at their island cottage on the Bruce Peninsula, Ontario, instilling a deep love and respect of rural and cottage life. He was courteous and thoughtful, a true gentleman who always acted with the utmost integrity, balanced with a great sense of fun and mischief. Bass-fishing, boating and family “cookouts” were some of his favourite activities. George cared deeply about people, treating all with respect and dignity.
Special thanks go to his associate Ken Hurdle, Dr. Young, Rita and the amazing staff at Delmanor, Aurora.
