Born in Toronto to Giacomo (Jack) Chianelli and Bedina (Vita/Vitina) Leo, she grew up on Queen St and moved to Downsview in her teenage years.
She met her beloved husband, Douglas (2020) and they married in 1955. They built their house down the street from her parents & that was where she lived her life.
Predeceased by her loving daughter, Theresa (2023), Frances is survived by her sons, Peter & Michael and her daughter Cathy (Barney Lawn).
Cherished by her grandchildren, Christopher Lawn (April), Shannon Bailey (Richard), Brittany Claxton (Dylan Thompson). Proud great Grandma to Leo and Vitina Lawn, Owen and Ava Bailey, and Oliver Thompson. She was such a big part of their lives.
Sadly missed by her siblings, Jim (Donna), Sam (Penny) and Jack (Sue) Chianelli.
Thanks to the team who took such amazing care of Frances over the past year and allowed her to live her life at home: Nurse Joanne, PSW’s Tawnia, Sandra and Cassie.
A special heartfelt thanks to Dr. Stacie Kling for her care, compassion, advice and friendship. You were with her every step of the way as she made this journey and the path was clearer because of you.
Frances was so proud of her late daughter Theresa and her work as a pioneer in mental health peer support. In lieu of flowers, donations to Krasman Centre, designated to the honour of Theresa Claxton-Wali and her legacy work, would be immensely appreciated.
A visitation for Frances will be held at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home in Thornhill (8088 Yonge St. Thornhill) on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 11:00am to be followed by the funeral service at 12:00pm. There will be a reception on the second floor following the service. Following the reception burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery (8361 Yonge St, Thornhill, ON).
