Edith Marguerite Porter

May 2, 1923 - January 11, 2016

It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother at the age of 92. She is now with her Lord and welcomed into her heavenly home by her husband Bob, her son Lance, her mother Ida, her sister and brother Ruth and Crawford and her many friends and relatives. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her children Janet Maxwell Russell (Robin) and Neil (Leanne), her 4 grandchildren Spencer, Emily, Krista and Joel, her many nieces, especially Marilyn and Sharon, her nephews, cousins, all the Porters, and friends. Her final days were spent at Revera Westside Long Term Care with her loyal caregiver Giselle at her side. Marj will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, patience and her sincere love of the Lord. Marj was born in Oro Station, ON and moved to Toronto to pursue a nursing career. She met and married "the boy next door" in 1950 and they had 61 amazing years together. Private family interment will take place at Alliston Union Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Rexdale Alliance Church, 2459 Islington Ave., on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 7:30pm.
