One of many great times when Dorothy and Gord at the cottage, Shawn suggested we to watch Anaconda. Driving back to our trailer we flew down the dark road.  Later Trevor told Dorothy he was terrified and kept looking in the rear view mirror expecting the snake coming after him. After she finally stopped laughing she told him that he should have come to the bunkie with her and Gord. No one was invited to their out of bounds place!
She may have been a softy with letting the Grandkids have chocolate cake for breakfast, but with Gord,  but she always caught him sneaking a second Chelsea bun!
Those thanksgiving dinners at the cottage, and her tips for the casino are truly missed. 
Loving family, She will be missed, but take comfort that she is with her Gord, and is no longer in pain!

Mrs. Campbell I mate once with Shawn she very nice lady a witty personal was probably a lot of fun.  God bless the family and remember  she always your heart no one can take that away.

Auntie Dorothy

Auntie Dorothy was such a beautiful young girl. I was very young and as you know, young girls are very impressionable, my earliest impression was seeing Auntie Dorothy when she and Uncle Gordon were still dating and Auntie Dorothy was visiting at our grandparents' home in their flat above the Royal Canadian Legion on Greenlaw. A little later, when I attended their wedding, I remember our cousin Douglas and I playing under the tables during their reception. Later I remember Auntie Dorothy looking so beautiful in her nurses uniform. In September of 1959, I stayed with them at their apartment in Thorncliffe Park when it was first built up, for ten days while my parents had traveled to Vancouver—we were living fairly close by in Don Mills. My parents were party people in those days with lots of calypso and Uncle Gordon and Auntie Dorothy would always come and join in with all the fun and dancing. We saw a little less of Auntie Dorothy for a few years after all of us had moved into houses and all our parents became more absorbed in careers, taking care of children, having cottages etc. With Auntie Dorothy doing shift work at the hospital, Uncle Gordon would bring the kids over and hang out with us and sometimes playing chess with Dad. 
Years later, Auntie Dorothy and Uncle Gordon were very generous taking care of dad’s second wife Nancy who was a dream for all of us. By that time, my sister Juanita and I had moved away from Toronto and they were both so good to her for many long years. Dad who was only 59, had asked them to watch over her before he died. They were wonderful and had her living in a second house they owned. Auntie Dorothy and Nancy became very good friends and spent a lot of time together. 
Auntie Dorothy was very devoted and like nurses are, very efficient in taking care of things. With Auntie Dorothy‘s passing, I find myself now to be the oldest in the family. Much love to you all and I hope we can share memories and moving thro

I loved those saddle shoes.

My mom.... a caregiver her entire life. In 1971 we moved to Willowdale, the five of us plus Nanny, Poppa and Dama. When the older generation passed and dad started having heart attacks she devoted the rest of her life to looking after him. 

 Eventually the grandkids came along and mom went into overdrive, looking after them throughout the summer at the cottage, Christmas break, March break etc.  Robin stayed with mom until she was 14 due to going to school out of district.

There was always one of us having an accident, operation or just plain sick and mom was at the ready. How she found time to coach softball, bowl, enjoy her beloved Jays, the cottage or the backyard is beyond me.

Mom, the front deck will never be the same.

I can't find the right words to express how sorry I am for the loss of your mother.   Having experienced the profound sadness that comes with losing my mom, I understand the depth of emotions you are navigating right now.

A shameless Blue Jays fan. There was always more than one player on her shift list.  It was easy for a player to get on the list, a little more difficult for him to rejoin the general ranks. Once on the list, the offending player was given a nickname which would follow him throughout his tenure.

Thinking of Mrs. Campbell and the family with so many fond memories of the time spent at the Campbell home and cottage through my teenage years.  Those moments will always hold a special place in my heart. Sending love to the family and wishing you all comfort in knowing how much your mom continues to be treasured.

What a life our dear Dorothy had!!! Tony and I are sorry for your loss. She is going to be above us now cheering on the Blue Jays. This is the angel that they have been waiting for.

I met Dorothy when I was in high school. Shawn and I have been good friends for a very long time. Dorothy always warmly welcomed me into their home. She had the best sense of humour - sometimes at unexpected times and topics!  Even later in life, she always made time to visit and have great conversations when I made it from Tweed to Toronto. The last time I visited Dorothy, Shawn, Dave, Brian and Tim and I had a wonderful meal together. We laughed and shared stories. Dorothy reminisced about how she met Gord, dated and married, and spoke about how  much she missed him.  We all will miss you Dorothy, but your memory will live on in our hearts.

The first time I met Dorothy she invited me up to her room for a smoke. We had 3 amazing conversations. She spoke of family, love of family, an enjoyable career and her loyalty to her husband and their life together.
