Travel plans meant I did not hear of David's passing until yesterday. I am saddened my the news and very disappointed to not have the opportunity to see him, nor to give him a final farewell. 
Our relationship goes back to Oshawa in 1979, and I joke he had the privilege of being the first person to fire me! My esteem for David, and respect for his career accomplishments made him a natural magnet, and like all of us, I'll miss having another chat with him about his interesting life.
David has been one of the most influential and most interesting individuals people I've had the pleasure of meeting in my life.
My sincere condolences to all of David's family and friends.

Keeping in our prayers at this difficult time.

Dave and I worked together at WCFL Radio in Chicago during the late 1960s, when it was a true rock 'n roll giant.  I'll always remember him as a consistently cheery and lively friend, cute, skinny, and talented!  Those of us who were so lucky to be part of that phenomenal endeavor, at that fantastic time in popular music and in the world, shared something so special, that none of us have ever forgotten each other.  This certainly applies to Dave, one of the great guys.  I valued his friendship over many years...especially because after I moved to Los Angeles in 1970, and was homesick for Chicago, Dave came out once or twice, and we had great visits, continuing our friendship. It was such a  wonderful surprise when we got back in touch in these later years - but it was very touching as he was already ill.    

I'm so sad to hear of his passing - Dave Mazmanian was a truly dear person, humble and giving .  The world in a dimmer place without his presence.   RIP+ my friend.

My sincerest condolences to the family.  I'm so sorry I wasn't able to meet David.  It is so apparent from the outpouring of messages, that he was very loved and admired.
