As I heard this news today my heart broke. I worked with Alvaro his first year at St. Elizabeth and he was such a delight to be around. He was always tracking me down both in the school and in the mall just to say hi and chat. As I left the school to start a family, I was so proud too see the progress that Alvaro had made in the course of just one year!  Over the last few years I had the pleasure to see Alvaro occasionally while out and about in town and was so impressed by the man that he had become. My deepest condolences go out to all his family and friends. He was an amazing young man who will be deeply missed.

Its always the good ones that get taken first, Alvaro you were more than that, you were the best one. You changed my life more than you will ever know in the past 8 years with you selfless actions and healing words. We had a rare closeness that I have not had with anyone else, and that closeness doesn't change now that you are gone. Juliana, I am happy to know he spend his last years, months and days with you. You showed him love and he was able to give his to you. Monica he adored you and was proud of his big sister. Your parents should be very proud of the amazing man they created. You were filled with love, passion and kindness.

As a Soccer Mom, I won't forget the wonderful times, Eli and I got to socialize with Alvaro and his wonderful family.  Watching him score was the ultimate satisfaction. Alvaro was a wonderful respectful young man. His smile lite up the room. We were glad he was good friends with Felicia because we knew he would look out for her like a big brother. I will always remember Alvaro beceause when I was new to St.Elizabeth he showed me around and introduced me to people when I knew no one. He was one of my first friends I made at St.Ez. Alvaro and I played soccer for several years growing up and I will always remember his smile, dedication, love for the game, and incredible free kicks. I will pray for you and your family and know we will always be teammates playing together one day.
