Rose graduated from Washington Hospital School of Nursing in 1960 and continued her nursing career for 54 years. She retired from Bay Medical Center in Panama City, FL. Afterwards, she continued her career as a traveling nurse throughout the US. Rose was also a licensed Real Estate Agent and Auctioneer.
She enjoyed reading, camping and fishing, playing softball, participating in Senior games, traveling with family, spending time with grandchildren and watching football, especially when the Pittsburgh Steelers played.
Rose Marie is survived by her husband of 51 years, Calvin Anderson; a son, Howard McMurray JR; a daughter, Stephanie Clenney (Eric); a grandchild, Jennifer Mutton (Edwin); two great-grandchildren, Thomas Mutton and Madison Mutton; a godson, Allan J. Wargo; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Violet Gualteri, Maxine Gillenwater and Patricia Wargo.
A private service will be held at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville, NC.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
