Mr. Lindsay Hughes, 78, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Thomasville Medical Center following a brief illness.
A resident of this area all of his life, Mr. Hughes was born on June 20, 1936 in Davidson County to the late Edmond and Flora Myers Hughes. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and racing at Caraway. He especially loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Surviving is his wife, Wadine Gallimore Hughes of the home; daughters, Rita Hedrick and her husband Lester of Denton, Jean McFayden and her husband James of Denton, and Beverly Macias and her husband Rick of Denton; sons, Michael Hughes of Denton, Mickey Hughes and his wife Teresa of Thomasville, Daniel Hughes of Denton, Ricky Hughes and his wife Vickie of Denton, Scott Hughes of Denton, and Lindsay Wade “Buddy” Hughes of Denton; and sisters, Carrie Tuttle of Oak Ridge and Dorothy Richie of Thomasville. Also surviving are ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
A celebration of Mr. Hughes’ life will be held at 6:30 pm Wednesday June 25th in the chapel of Thomasville Funeral Home, 18 Randolph Street. The family will receive friends from 5pm until 6:30 pm prior to the service
