Leonard Clarence Murray

Leonard Clarence Murray, 81, passed away Monday, September 17, 2012 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington. He was born February 15, 1931 in Buncombe County, North Carolina to the late Dick and Esta Hylemon Murray.

Leonard is survived by daughters, Patricia McKinney of Asheville, Coleen Rogers of Lexington, and Jenny Dennis of Lexington; sisters Estie Brent of Tennesee and Hattie Hailey of Mars Hill; brothers Bill Murray of Mars Hill and Joel Murray of Asheville; grandchildren Heather Rogers, Alisha Rogers, Bradley Rogers, Clarke Connor, Michael Allen, Amber Morrison, Jeremy Capps, Chris Dennis, and Katherine Dennis; and great grandchildren Waboose Morrison, Hunter Cockram, Dalton Cabe, Rylan Dennis, Lindsey Allen, Hadyn Cabe, Lucas Dennis, Morgan Dennis, Kinsley Dennis, Preston Gunter, and Lily Rogers.

He was preceded in death by his wife Rachel, parents Dick and Esta Hylemon Murray, sisters Irene Edsall and Atlas Craine, brother J.B. Murray, and grandson Michael Brandon Rogers.

The family will receive friends Friday, September 21, 2012 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Thomasville Funeral Home, and at other times at 6903 Twin Oaks Drive, Trinity, North Carolina. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, September 22nd in the funeral home chapel.
