Jerry Lee Lester

Mr. Jerry Lee Lester, 56, of Thomasville, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014 at his home.

Jerry was born on January 26, 1958 in Richlands, VA. He had worked in the coal mines of Virginia and later moved to North Carolina and worked as a roofer. Jerry always put his family first. He especially loved fishing, Nascar and was a UNC Tarheel fan. He was of the Baptist faith and also attended Midway School Road Baptist Church.

Surviving is his wife, Sandra Ball Lester of the home; sons, Michael L. Lester and his wife Dawn of Thomasville, Mark R. Lester and his wife Becky of Thomasville; brothers, Louis, Larry, and Ronnie Lester, all of Virginia; sisters, Patsy Goff and her husband George of Florida, Peggy Arms of VA, and Ruby Lang of TN. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Michala Lester, Michael Lester, Jr., Rebecca Coggins, and Savana Coggins.

A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held at 1pm Monday in the chapel of Thomasville Funeral Home, 18 Randolph Street. Burial will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:30 until 12:30.
