Jane Ella Withers

She was preceded in death by her parents Coy Lee Stamey and Norma Jean Stamey; and brother Robert Lee (Bo) Stamey. Jane is survived by the love of her life for 47 years Patrick Withers; her children Shane and wife Lisa, Erin and husband Scott, and Jeremy and wife Tiffany; her brother Pete Stamey; and her grandchildren Stone, Dylan, Kaitlyn, Eli, Judah, Rivers, and Jovie.

Jane was born in Greensboro, NC and raised in Statesville, NC where she graduated from high school. After high school, she attended Guildford College and graduated with a BA in English and received her master’s degree from Gardner-Webb University. She later went on to achieve doctorates from both STC Bible College and Carolina Theological Seminary.

She retired from Davidson County Schools with over 30 years of service in education. She was the Co-Founder and Director of STC Bible College for 17 years.

Jane had a gift for creating an environment to inspire growth, life, and joy in people’s lives. Her overflowing love for children was evident in her career and ministry. She was selfless in her service to her calling and purpose in the Lord. Jane lived a life of productivity and accomplishments that pale in comparison to her passion for the advancement of the Gospel of Jesus.

A celebration honoring the life of Jane Ella Withers will be hosted by her family at Hasty Elementary School in Thomasville, NC on Friday, September 22nd 2017 at 5:00pm. The family will be available for visitation immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to STC Bible College, PO Box 906 Thomasville, NC 27361.
