A resident of this area all of his life, Lucky was born on April 23, 1949 in Davidson County to James Lucky Embry, Jr. and Greta Berrier Embry. He had worked for many years at Universal Spring, later working at Thomasville Funeral Home and Flowers by Neil. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and a member of Johnsontown United Methodist Church. Lucky loved music, cars, and going to the beach. He especially loved his beloved dog and companion, Roxie.
Surviving is his mother, Greta Embry of Thomasville; sisters, Vickie Embry of High Point and Carolyn Boles and her husband Terry of Thomasville; nieces, Michelle Ratliff and Lisa Davis; and one great niece and two great nephews.
A celebration of Lucky’s life will be held at 11 am Wednesday at Johnsontown United Methodist Church with Pastor Eric Lineberry and Pastor Jenna Grogan officiating. Burial with Military Rites will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Tuesday at Thomasville Funeral Home, 18 Randolph Street.
