A resident of High Point and Cleveland, Ohio, Jackie was born on November 23, 1938 in Guilford County to the late Ganes and Ada Harris Hensley. Jackie was an avid and dedicated member of Faith Baptist Church in Archdale and especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, her dogs, traveling to the mountains, and flowers. She was well-known in the High Point and Thomasville area, where she worked as a cook in numerous home-style restaurants. In addition to her parents, Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, Jennings C. Moore in 2011; sons, Randall Hensley, Lucky Hensley, Buddy Dale Stanley; and four grandchildren, Johnny Stanley, Beautiful Ray Blomquist, Bentley Maness, and Danny Godbolt.
Surviving are her daughters, Sandy Peterson and her significant other Tim Taylor of Lexington, and Lisa Smith and her husband Rev. Steve W. Smith of High Point; step daughter, Debbie Moore of South Carolina; sons, Michael Stanley and his wife Shirley of Rota, Spain, William Edell (Flicker) Stanley, Jr. and his significant other Loretta Weese of Asheboro, Freddie Stanley and his significant other Debi Pate of Trinity, and Chuckie Catlett and his wife Judy of Burlington; and daughter-in-law, Roxanna Ann Stanley of Lexington. Also surviving are her sister, Bootie Martin of Sophia; her dogs, Precious and Belladonna; fifteen grandchildren and twenty five great grandchildren.
A celebration of Jackie’s life will be held at 1 pm Thursday at Faith Baptist Church, 2984 Rob Cruthis Road, Archdale, with Rev. Steve W. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Wednesday at Thomasville Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Lisa, at 430 Birchwood Drive, High Point.
