Elaine was born in Thomasville, March 2, 1933, a daughter of Carlyle and Hazel Nance . She was a graduate of Pilot School and Married Lester Hubert Orman, Jr. (L.H.) in March of 1949. Elaine was a active member of the Lexington Church of Christ and took great care in her role as a wife and mother. She enjoyed attending church services, cooking, baking, singing, sewing, spending time with her family and watching her children/grandchildren play sports. Her smile could light up any room and she never met a stranger. Her love and her kindness touched everyone around her-she was affectionately called "Nana" by so many.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Lester Hubert Orman III, her bother, Carlyle Nance and her beloved daughter-in-law, Cynthia Ward Orman.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, L.H. Orman, Jr.; a daughter, Carol Snyder (Dennis); a son, Dean Orman (Becky Rosebrough); grandsons, Russ Snyder (Liz), Ben Snyder (Jamie), Jed Orman (Emily); granddaughter, Amber Pugh (Matthew); nine great-grandchildren, sister's in law, and all her loving nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 12, 2021 at Holly Hill Memorial Park with Minister Brock Shanks officiating. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Davidson County. The family would like to say a special "Thank You" to Hospice of Davidson County and to her caregivers, Edith, Marsha, Mary and Michelle for all their love and assistance.
