Barbara Elaine Blankenship, age 82, of Thomasville, North Carolina left us on Wednesday, November 20, 2024.
Elaine was born September 14, 1942 in Thomasville, NC, the daughter of the late Waie Hill and Mary Ruth Lohr. She was the most loving, caring individual you could ever meet. Elaine loved her family and would do anything for anyone because she had a big, generous heart. Her aura was special! Some of Elaine's favorite hobbies were sewing, painting, quilt making, and gardening. Elaine's cooking was food for the soul for those she served.
She was a member of Victory Baptist Church. Elaine enjoyed traveling. She would go to the beach and the mountains. Elaine had a wonderful experience staying in a treehouse with her family. A past time favorite was to go to car shows with her husband of 50 years, David Blankenship.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Elaine was preceded in death by one daughter, Renee Blankenship, and one grandson, Harrison Lee Boles.
Surviving are one son, David Wayne Blankenship; and a daughter, Jeanette Blankenship Boles; five grandchildren; Josh, Samuel, Jacob, Heather and Chad; seven great-grandchildren, Haley, Maggie, Summer, Autumn, JB, Delaney and Aubrey.
A Celebration of Elaine's life will be held Sunday November 24, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Sechrest-Davis Funerals and Cremations in Thomasville. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park in High Point.
Visitation will be Saturday November 23, 2024, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
