Mrs. Dorothy Hughes Hill Ritchie, 93, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015 at her residence.
Mrs. Ritchie was born in Davidson County, March 11, 1922, a daughter of Ed and Flora Myers Hughes. She was a loving mother, excellent cook and had a wonderful sense of humor. Mrs. Ritchie was preceded in death by her two husbands, Raymond Lee Hill and Melvin David Ritchie; her daughter, Lois Ann Self; a son, Loyd Gray Hill; daughter in law, Denie Hill; and several other siblings.
Surviving are two sons, Raeford Hill and Ralph Hill and his wife Ilene; a sister, Carrie Hughes Tuttle; daughter in law, Vickie Hill; eleven grandchildren and numerous great and great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Thomasville Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. David McLeese. Burial will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. until the service. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County.
