Ashley Dawn Joines

A resident of this area all of her life, Ashley was born on October 15, 1981 in Guilford County to Paul Houston Joines Jr. and Sharon Myers Joines. Ashley was of the Baptist faith and a member of Midway School Road Baptist Church, where she taught Vacation Bible School each year. She was a graduate of UNC Greensboro with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and was an accomplished professional saxophonist at the NC School of the Arts. She worked in the mental health field and enjoyed spending time with her niece and nephew. Ashley was preceded in death by her father, Paul Joines, Jr. in 2008.

Surviving is her mother, Sharon Myers Joines of the home; her sister, Heather Michelle Joines of Thomasville; her grandparents, Maxine Myers Gibson of Sophia, and Irene Spencer Joines of High Point; her niece, Isabella Marie Mathis; her nephew, Elijah Paul Mathis; and her beloved dog, Mr. Pickles. Ashley is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A celebration of Ashley’s life will be held at 3 pm Sunday at Midway School Road Baptist Church with Rev. Albert Craven officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 pm Sunday at the church.
