He was a Renaissance man who, over his lifetime, was an accomplished actor, singer, painter, sculptor, Bible teacher, history buff, power lifting champion in NC & SC, an avid tennis player, golfer, who aced a hole in one, dedicated businessperson, mechanical engineer, and inventor who developed the first credit card gas pump 30 years ago.
He was a loving father, grandfather, husband, and was previously an active member at Memorial United Methodist Church in Thomasville, NC. He resided at Piedmont Crossing.
Albert is survived by his daughter Monique (Philip) Heller, son Randy (Sara Jo) Lawrence, granddaughter Moriah Lawrence and Tony and Lorna McCullough. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Catherine Fontaine Lawrence.
A funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Piedmont Crossing, 100 Hedrick Drive, Thomasville, NC 27360 on Monday, February 5, 2023 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Thomasville.
In addition to flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Memorial United Methodist Church, 101 Randolph St., Thomasville, NC 27360.
