William “Bill” Eugene Eckert, age 88, of The Woodlands, TX, passed away at home on Sunday, May 30, 2021. He was born on July 26, 1932, in Toledo, OH, to parents William Rike Eckert and Florence M. Youngs. Bill graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1950. He then joined the Air Force in 1952 and served for 4 years. He was married to Beverly Leah Stykemain on September 14, 1957.
He lived in Ohio for 43 years and then moved to Texas in 1975.
He enjoyed volunteering with the Memorial Chase Water Board, Knights of Columbus, St. Anthony of Padua Senior Pals and Northwest Hospital.
He enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and internationally with his wife and family.
Bill is survived by his sister, Carol Swint, of Fremont, OH; his children and their spouses, Eileen Eckert, Anita Eckert, Bill & Alicia Eckert, Tom & Channa Eckert, Don & Deb Eckert, Jerry & Rafael Eckert, and Leah & Dan Turnbull; his grandchildren, Stephanie Eckert, William Eckert, Eric Eckert, Tyler Eckert, Emma Eckert, Lilly Eckert, Alex Eckert, Beth Eckert, Cassia Eckert, Dawn Eckert, Beverly Eckert, Dylan Turnbull, Caden Turnbull, and Abby Turnbull; and his great grandchildren Jaxon and Axel Cotton.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Beverly Eckert.
A visitation and rosary will be held Friday, June 4, 2021, from 11:00am to 12:00pm at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 7801 Bay Branch Dr, The Woodlands, TX 77382. The Funeral Mass will occur at 12:00pm. Fr. Thomas Rafferty will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bill’s life.
A private burial will take place following the Mass at Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery.
