He was born in Bonne Terre, MO on January 21, 1961. He grew up in Belgrade, MO and attended Valley High School and then joined the army.
Later he became a welder and worked his way up to General Manager of Tricor Industrial in Conroe, Texas. Toward the end of his career, he became a project manager for the same company.
He loved fast cars. He owned a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and belonged to a club for several years. He also was a PADI divemaster. His favorite dive location was Roatan, Honduras. He often talked about the reef and animals he saw underwater.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Rubye Austin, his son, Timothy Austin and his brother-in-law Gary Blanner.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Leatherby, his daughter Dawn Weirich (Joe), his son William H Austin III (Heather), his stepdaughters Anastasia Leatherby, Ariana Leatherby and Karen Hill, his grandchildren Philip Stites, Alexis Austin, Jacob and Jared Weirich, William H Austin IV, Chloe Austin, Hailey Austin, and Logan Austin, his sister Connie Blanner, his half-sister, Beverly Austin, the mother of his sons and good friend Benita Austin, along with numerous nieces and nephews and special cousins Tina Galluzo and Rhonda and Donna. He also is survived by several step grandchildren: Ashton Brinegar, Ethan Brinegar, Timmie Rogers, Ava Atmar and Nehemiah Kemp.
A memorial service will be held December 30 at 2:00 pm, Forest Park The Woodlands, 18000 Interstate 45S, The Woodlands, TX 77384.
