Stephen Dudley Wolford, II, age 59, died unexpectedly playing the game he loved most- tennis- on Saturday, May 14, 2011 due to unknown circumstances. He was loved by many in his community - tennis buddies, Terracon co-workers, civil war re-enactors, church members, friends and family because he emanated light, love, community and an open heart to all. He will be missed terribly. He is spiritually present in the hearts of his wife Margaret Wolford and two kids Michelle and Stephen. May his presence always be remembered. With love and serenity, in God we trust.
The funeral service will be held at The Woodlands United Methodist Church at 2200 Lake Woodlands Dr, The Woodlands, TX 77380 on Sunday, May 22nd at 3:30 pm in the main sanctuary. The reception will be held at Carlton Woods at One Carlton Woods Drive, The Woodlands, TX 77382 (281-863-5844).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial contribution be made to "The Steve D. Wolford Memorial", a scholarship fund that was created by the Houston Tennis Association to send kids in need to tennis camps and provide educational scholarships. Steve loved tennis and valued education.
