Ruth Marie Romero, age 87, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Wednesday April 22, 2020 in The Woodlands, Texas. She was born December 8, 1932 in St. Mary's Hospital in Port Arthur, Texas to Magnus Thurston Wennerbom and Ruth Nelson Wennerbom.
Marie married Elias Romero, Jr., of Port Arthur, Texas and had four children; Katherine Thompson, Patricia Elaine Lewis, Marilyn Knatz and Nancy McDermand.
Much of her life was lived in Port Arthur, Texas where she was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents father Magnus Wennerbom and mother Ruth Wennerbom; husband Elias Romero, Jr.; brother Magnus Thurston "Bo" Wennerbom, Jr. of Center, Texas and brother John Wennerbom, Sr. of San Antonio, Texas.
Survivors include daughter Katherine Thompson of The Woodlands, Texas; daughter Patricia Elaine Lewis and husband Mike of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter Marilyn Knatz and husband Kenneth of The Woodlands, Texas; and daughter Nancy McDermand and husband Fremont of Nome, Texas; Six grandchildren Tricia McEacharn and husband Rusty of Kingwood, Texas; Chad Dubois and wife Crystal of Port Arthur Texas; John David Thompson and wife Jennifer of The Woodlands, Texas; Kenny Knatz and wife Carrie of California; Christopher Knatz and wife Alexa of California and Stephanie Knatz Peck and husband Colby of California; as well as eleven great grandchildren.
Private services will be held Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at Forest Park - The Woodlands Funeral Home, 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands, TX 77384.
