It is with great sadness that the family of Robert “Bob” Middleton West IV announces his passing on Tuesday, July 17, 2018. Robert was born on August 3, 1945 to Robert and Elizabeth West of Austin, Texas and passed away in Conroe, Texas at the age of 72. After being sick for 18 months, he died from numerous complications originating from a blood clot.
Bob graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1963. He attended Sam Houston State University and then began his banking career at the age of 19 at City National Bank of Austin. During the 1970’s, he was proud to have become the youngest president of a bank in the state of Texas. Through the years Bob served on many boards and organizations in which there are too many to list, but was most proud to serve on the Grand Jury Association. Bob also served his country for eight years in the National Guard.
Bob was married to Linda Ann Faron West for 49 years. He had a passion for spending time at his family ranch, hunting, playing golf, watching westerns, reading books, and enjoying activities with his five grandchildren.
His parents, Robert and Elizabeth West of Austin, and one sister, Robin West Palmer of San Antonio, precede Bob in death.
Bob is survived by his wife, Linda West; and his daughters, Kerri West Chaney (Sean) and Kelly West deBerardinis (Jason); as well as his five grandchildren, Camden and Madison Chaney, Kaden, Kylie and Kole deBerardinis.
Pallbearers for the service are Jim Anderson, Alan Bergstrom, Davis Craig, Sean Chaney, Jason deBerardinis and Will Howard. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Craig, Jeff Terrell and Albin Finke.
A visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Friday, July 20, (light hors d’oeuvres will be served) at Forest Park Funeral Home in The Woodlands, 18000 I-45 South, The Woodlands, TX 77384.
A memorial service will follow at 10 AM on Saturday, July 21, at Forest Park Funeral Home. The burial will follow the memorial service in Navasota at Oakland Cemetery, 801 6th Street, Navasota, TX 77868.
