Robert Joseph Monjure was born in New Orleans and was living in Montgomery, TX. He unexpectedly passed away at home on Thursday, May 16, 2024. He was 72 years old. He had various nicknames: Bob, Robbie, Rob, Bobbie, Sparky, Sparkle and "Bun". Bob was a graduate of Jesuit High School in New Orleans, received his B.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering at LSU in Baton Rouge and his MBA Degree from UNO. He worked at various companies throughout his career including Union Carbide, Nalco, Suez and Veolia Water Technology. Although he was semi-retired, he still worked as a consultant part time with Veolia.
Bob loved traveling with his wife Nelda and was a dedicated fan of LSU sports, especially college baseball. He also enjoyed cooking, watching movies, spending time with his cats, and learning to play the guitar. Bob truly enjoyed life to the fullest, but his greatest pleasure was spending time with his family and sharing personal Bible study sessions on Sundays with his grandson, Austin. He was kind, loving, compassionate, generous, highly knowledgeable on many topics, had a great sense of humor, and loved Our Lord. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. His impact and influence undeniably left its mark on many. He is survived by his wife Nelda Cross Monjure, son Justin Monjure and his wife Dee, step daughter Erica Marino, grandson Austin Monjure and granddaughters Savannah and Ashton Bagley. He is also survived by his sister JoAnn Monjure of Baton Rouge, LA. and brother Stephen Monjure of High Point, NC. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Joseph A. Monjure and Susan Caballero Monjure. Bob loved animals so in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to PETA or to an animal charity of your choice.
A memorial service for Bob will be held Friday, May 31, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home & Cemetery, 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands, TX 77384, followed by a reception from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
