Bob was a man of love, laughter, music, and comedy. He had a magnetic personality, and loved to make people laugh. He could turn even mundane activities into something memorable, because he saw the good and the humor in literally everything. Bob could fit in anywhere, with any one from any culture, and he made friends wherever he went. He was deeply loved by his family and friends.
He was a natural on the piano, and played the guitar and sang. He had a gold record with his Doo-Wop group Vito and the Salutations, and traveled the world on a cruise ship playing with a Greek band. Even in his latter years, he performed solo at senior living facilities. He always infused humor and jokes into his performances, as his main goal was to make people smile. His newest act was “Blues Man Bob,” which he transformed into by putting on a straw hat and dark sunglasses. He would bang out a blues song on the piano, crack a joke or two, take off the hat and glasses, and conclude with the announcement, “Blues Man Bob has left the building.”
Even though Bob has left the building, he will never leave our hearts and our memories.
He is survived by his sister Carol, cousin Roberta, and children Sharon and Michael. Michael and his wife Taylor have five children, Moriah, Michaela, Levi, Malachi, and Solomon, who was named after Robert’s father that he loved deeply.
May his memory be a blessing.
