 It has been a while Bops, but today was my first day of my senior year in high school and I came home to look at this page because you were on my mind today. I have re-read all of these beautiful messages and can't wait to see you again one day- because tonight, I miss your smile, stories and rosy cheeks. I admire the life that you lived and the legacy that you have left with you. Going through this stressful day and year to come, I know I have all of your advice, and all of your belief that I will be something like you one day. Touching so many lives and being so happy.

Well we are almost to the one year mark, and I still miss you so much.  I miss your rosey red cheeks and smile from ear to ear and all the great talks.  I know you were watching down over Kyle and you are so proud of him, he stood in front of us this morning and was able to keep his composure and tell us about what he has been going through for the last year.  Of course tears were going and he did great!  Stayed strong and made his points to us without ever missing a beat.  He is for sure his daddy's boy!  I love you and miss you deeply!

Like everybody, I miss you. And like everybody, I wish you were still here. But unlike everybody, I still live up to be like you, push myself to the potential you said I have. And when I achieve something, I always see your unforgettable rosy smile. ??

There still is not a day that goes by that I do not think about you and miss you so much!  Tomorrow is going to be yet another difficult day when we will all miss your great big smile and the heart felt speech you always gave.  I know in my heart that Kyle will lead us through the D&D Christmas party without a hitch.  We all know Christmas was one of your favorite times, and I know you are with family there and still enjoying the Holidays.  It will be difficult for all of us, but I am saying a big prayer for Kyle to give him the strength to get through his speech and the day in general with all of us for his first time being in the lead. We will make him as comfortable as we can and continue our support for Kyle, he is doing a good job so far, which I know you knew he would. I miss you so much! I miss the times you would come by my desk just to see how I was doing and ask about my kids and what they are up to at that point.  There are so many things I miss.  You will be in my thoughts forever and never forgotten!

It's been two mos. today since we lost you, and it seems like yesterday.  I just can't let go of you as hard as I try.  You were a great fraternity brother; I should have gotten to know you better even tho. you were 5 years older. Your jokes had me in stitches so much that I never knew what you did for a living until after we lost you. Sometimes they were funny even though they were not intended as jokes.  I once asked you how many miles/gal. the RV got.  You said, "About 2."  I couldn't stop laughing for several minutes. When men speak, the first question asked is "What do you do (for a living)?"  The fact that it never came to mind when we spoke is a testament to your ability to focus on the other important things in life.  I will spend the rest of my life trying to achieve what you did, and will probably never succeed.  Rest in peace, my brother.  We'll never forget you.

I just found out about Bob's passing this morning and was shocked and saddened.  My thoughts and prayers are with Kyle, Courtney, Brenda and the so many others that knew and loved Bob.  The pictures tell a story of a man who loved and was loved by all.  He was a good friend to me and always gracious to my family.  He was a great employer -  teaching and mentoring but full of fun.  Thank you Bob for what you taught me and what you did for me.  Thank you for being a part of my life.

I made my 9 year anniversary today at Dean & Draper and its the first year Bob didn't come over and tell me "good job" and give me a big hug.  Needless to say I am sad today, but I'm sure he is looking down on me and smiling that great big smile and routing me on like he always has.  I sure miss you Bob!

I was on vacation when Bob passed and learned of his death just today.  He will be missed on many fronts.  A pillar of integrity and an icon in the Texas Insurance industry!

Kyle and Courtney my prayers are with you both in the loss of your father. Loving memories of him will last you for a lifetime.

Bob, Thank you for all the awesome memories!! So many great memories come to mind. Like, the first and only time that I rode a motorcycle, was with you. You were a great Godfather to me. I always had a great time learning and having fun with your family! You do, and will always hold a special part in my heart! Love you and God bless your family!

Bob was a fine man and someone I considered a friend.  Bob was also one of the first people I went to when organizing the Insurance and Risk Management degree program at the Univeristy of Houston-Downtown.  Bob was immediately supportive of the idea for the school and today it is a thriving degree program benefiting the students it engages as well as the insurance industry it serves.  
I will miss Bob.

I only had the privilege of meeting Bob the day before he died. I was with he and Brenda for 12 hours on Sunday. Bob made an impression on me-the same lasting impressions already expressed in the guest book. He was truly a pleasure to have as a patient. He was so good and such a nice guy.

Bops, I will never miss saying that. Ever. You are the one and only; and definitely the best. I just wanted to say thank you for everything. You always gave advice that I really need to live life, and thanks to you, I have it. You always told me these crazy stories of your childhood that were just the funniest things! Like that back in the days, you used to have to make your own toy cars if you wanted to have toy car races with all your friends. So you explained to me exactly how to make one out of sticks and rubber bands, and made sure that I knew exactly why everything was the way that it was. I thought that you were completely crazy. But I loved that about you. One time, while I was spending a week with you and Mimzy, you came home from a hard day at work, but still had a big smile on your face with your rosy pink cheeks. You would be happy, fun, and funny no matter what. You were humble, joyful, and very loving. You loved Mimzy more than I thought was possible. And you loved all of us, her family, as if we were your own. Your own blood and flesh. You taught me very many things without me even knowing. You always cared about how my school was going, and always asked about Tae-Kwon-Do, you even told me that you would go watch me when I go to the Olympics, with no doubt in your mind that I would. You told me to do dance in highschool over volleyball because dance would help me with Tae-Kwon-Do and many other things in life, like having healthy muscles. And you said how even professional football players do it. One time, since I was curious about World War 2 and stuff, you pulled out your book about it and took out of your time to show me everything and explained it all to me so that I would know just as much as you. Those are just a few memories, but they were the best. I miss you more than you could imagine. But I know that you are up there in Heaven with Jesus and God plus all the ones who have been waiting for you at the gates. I can't wait to see those rosy pink cheeks again someday. I will forever love you Bops. <3

Bob, you were an AMAZING man! You were more than a step dad to me, you WERE my second dad. If ever I needed you in any way at all no matter the time you were always there. If the boys were sick you would be one of the first to give advice and check on them. You were the same with Shawn and I. I am so glad we live so close to you and mom because Shawn and I and the kids got to see you so much! The boys and Lexis are surely going to miss their Bops!!! The boys adored you and loved watching movies with you eating popcorn, taking joy rides in your RV, riding around in your Mustang, swimming with you in the pool, spending the night with Bops and Mimzy, among all the other things you all did together. Lexis enjoyed the long conversations you had with her and I remember you telling me how much you really love her and how you love talking to her. She was really looking forward to you coming to see her get her second degree black belt. We know you will be watching and cheering her on! I will miss the dinner dates we all shared every so often, the family get togethers, trips we took, watching football with you, talking politics with you, the funny emails and texts we sent to each other, we understood each other and I believe we were in some ways so much alike. Both "type A" personalities! Even if we weren't watching football "together" we texted back and forth almost play for play. I also remember texting back and forth the entire night waiting for the results of this past presidential election. We both knew ROMNEY had it. Boy were we both pissed off with those results!

My little family would not be the same or where we are today if it wasn't for you. One of the things I cherish and thank you most for is you rooting and cheering me on through my roller coaster ride through becoming a nurse. You will continue to guide me and be by my side all the way to my Masters in Nursing and throughout my entire life. Shawn will miss you so much as well. You both talked business together, guns, cars, etc. Shawn felt a close bond with you and he appreciates all the help and LOVE you have given us. You have made all of our heart bigger and full of love and happiness. The things you have done for my mom are beyond what an "average" husband did. You were an extraordinary husband and best friend to my mom. I know from you telling me and everyone that "she is your life" and you are my mom's life as well. You were the love of her life and I am so glad she got to spend the last 10 plus years of her life with you. Next month you both would have shared 7 WONDERFUL years of marriage together!!! You were a one of a kind, huge hearted, loving, gentle, patient (I could go on and on) husband. She ALWAYS bragged about you! I thank you so much for filling my moms life with everlasting love. "Love Never Ends!" I know you will continue to be by her side throughout her life.

 I could go on and on about the kind of man you were. You were a friend to everyone, would drop anything just to help someone out or give advice, so humble, giving, caring, intelligent....... I will miss your beautiful BLUE eyes, your love for life, and your amazing big smile. I can't remember a time that you were not smiling! You had a love for life and loved traveling and spending time with my mom. I know you both had so many plans you all wanted to do together. I just want to say one more time how much we love you, you will forever be in our hearts and right by our sides guiding us. The boys says, "I LOVE YOU BOPS!!!" Lexis loves and misses you! Shawn and I love and miss you like crazy! This is going to be very tough. You were a one of a kind, unique man. There is no one in this world like you at all. Dean and Draper Insurance Agency was your second home and family. It won't be the same without you. You were the heart and soul of the company. We love you and miss you deeply! one of my very  first jobs  was with  Bob Dean of  then  Drew  Dean  and  Vaughan Insurance  Agency   I  did not  know  this  till today  Im saddened   to here  this  for a  great man a   former  boss  my thoughts  are with the family at this  time  he  was  a legend in  its  self for  sure......

I was just sitting here trying to remember when in my professional life I didn't know Bob.  I believe I first met Bob through mutual insurance friends soon after moving back to Houston.  Then about 20 yrs ago I had the good fortune to be able to start work with Bob.  I have read multiple times in this Guest Book that Bob was one of the good guys.  That is very true but I would like to also add... He was a true Gentleman!
I am sending my thoughts and prayers to Bob's family, The Dean & Draper family, his Insurance Industry family and all of his many friends.  We shall miss you Bob but we will never forget you!

I was Bob's second client and his longest standing client.  I hired his firm in 1980 and are still doing business with him as of today.  After 33 years of a relationship, it was much more than business.  He was a good friend.  I'll really miss him.  Knowing he was a Christian, I know that he is now with or Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  He's not resting in peace, he is praising our Lord.  May God give comfort to his entire family.

This was a great guy and a fantastic fraternity brother.  He had a kind heart and offered nourishment and drink from his RV at football game tailgate parties to anyone who was thirsty or hungry.  He attended our APO fraternity events and displayed kindness and joy everytime I saw him.  I will miss him greatly.  My sympathies to his wonderful family in this their time of grief.  May that grief be softened by the knowledge that many of us really liked this great guy whom G-d allowed us to enjoy his entire life.

I've known Bob for several years, I will miss his big smile and his caring, honest way of dealing with people. Bob was the person who sponsored my P & C license over 30 yrs ago when he was in a little agency with just a handful of people.    If I ever needed anything at all he was always there.   

Bob's strength was measured by his heart.  Bob was all about loving and caring. He was a bright spot for all of us, a radiation of pure, unconditional love...

I have had the privilege of working for Bob for the last 10 years. He chose to allow me to come to Dean & Draper when he bought the agency I previously worked for and I was grateful for the opportunity. I will never forget Bob's generosity, hospitality, and support. But my favorite line of his was, "Business is good," said in a low, scratchy voice that only Bob could pull off. I can only imagine how good business is in heaven.

The past 13 years I have been truly honored to have been associated with "Bob". Yes that is what he wanted to be called by everyone. This past Monday I had one of the saddest moments of my life when I had to bring the entire D&D staff together to tell them that we "lost our friend Bob this morning". He was our friend, not just our boss. I have read many of the entries in this book and they all have a similar theme, all similar because that was Bob. He told me over and over, "what you see is what you get with me, I don't have anything to hide". Our hearts are broken and we will miss Bob more than anyone will ever understand. Heaven is a better place this week.

I am sorry to hear of Bob's passing, my prayers are with the family at this difficult time. Bob was a great asset to the insurance community and a leader in the industry. Again, sorry to hear of this sad news.

I have had the pleasure of working with Bob over the past several years in the insurance industry.  I thought the world of him - he was always such a positive spirit, so helpful and thoughtful, and he always had a smile on his face! He was a bright spot in my day on any day that I had a meeting scheduled with him! He always had a great story to tell - usually with a football analogy included - and I truly enjoyed the time I got to spend with him. I was always struck by his deep love for and dedication to his family and friends, and my heart goes out to all of you because the loss of Bob is so profound. I once read an article on Bob about sewing and repairing his daughter's prom dress because there was no time to do otherwise. He fixed the dress and she went to the prom and the important day was saved. This small moment of his life touched my heart. If he was this kind of Dad, he must be quite a guy. And he was. Bob Dean will always be remembered for his tireless work on behalf of his clients and the insurance industry.  Having worked with Bob in many volunteer roles with IIAH, he was respected and loved by all those who knew him.  He will be missed by all of his peers greatly. Bob's legacy will carry on and he will always be remembered by the entire insurance community and those clients he deeply cared for. Bob,will be missed by so many. He was one of good guys. He always had a smile and a kindness about him that was ever so enduring.Bob,was my mentor,friend,leader and encourger. I was honered to work for him and allowed him to push and guide me. He will be missed in so many ways. My heart goes out to his family.

Bob was a Wonderful, Kind, Honest, Hardworking, Humble, Wise and so much more. He had a way of making you feel important and motivated. Dean and Draper is the best place I've worked by far. I feel like I'm apart of a company that is destin to succeed no matter what. However Bob will be missed by so many. I am thankful and appreciative that I got the chance to encounter such a person. My prayers go out to his family at this time, that they have peace and understanding of Gods plan. My prayers also go out to the Dean and Draper family, may we lift our heads make Bob proud.

We lost a very important, fun, gifted, loving and friendly person that really meant a lot to me, my family and so many others.  I will unquestionably miss his wonderful life stories and encouraging messages with football analogies- that sometimes I just didn't understand right away, but after some research they always made great since- he always kept me thinking.  Bob Dean touched my heart many times with his kindness and as you can imagine he was a wonderful person to work with.  My heart is saddened at this time, and I will forever miss his smiling face!  My thoughts and prayers are with the family in this time of need.
