Patrick Abshire, 65, of The Woodlands, Texas, passed away on April 1, 2025. Born on March 16, 1960, in Pasadena, Texas, Patrick lived a full and vibrant life marked by dedication to his family, his passions, and his community.
A proud graduate of Lamar University, Patrick earned his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and built a successful career working with ExxonMobil Pipeline Co for over 30 years before retirement. Beyond his professional achievements, Patrick was a man of many interests and hobbies. He found joy in the open road on his Harley, the calm of a golf course, the thrill of cycling, and the creativity of photography and woodworking. He also enjoyed gaming and treasured every moment spent with his children and grandchildren.
Patrick was preceded in death by his first wife, Laurie Abshire; his parents, CP and Shirley Abshire; his brother, Carl Abshire; and his sister, Shellie Murz.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Allison Abshire; his children, Justin Abshire and his wife Katie, Austin Abshire and his wife Lindsay, and Caitlyn Nelson and her husband Jackson; and his cherished grandchildren, Mason and Emma Abshire, Aiden and Rylee Abshire, and Skylar and soon to be Palmer Nelson.
Patrick also embraced and loved Allison’s family as his own. He is survived by his stepson, Grant Pitre, stepdaughter, Allix Garcia and her husband Ace, and their children Liv and Asher Garcia. He also leaves behind his stepmother, Connie Taft, sisters, Christine Taylor and Laurie Frazier, and his brothers, Dirk Abshire and Lonnie Abshire, as well as many extended family members and dear friends.
Patrick will be remembered for his generous spirit, his boundless energy, and the deep love he showed to all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those he touched.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Patrick's honor.
A visitation for Patrick will be held Monday, April 7, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home, 18000 Interstate 45 South, The Woodlands, Texas 77384. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, April 8, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church (Our Lady of The Angels Chapel), 8715 Kuykendahl Rd, Spring, TX 77382.
