Nell Christine Jeter Atkins was born in Vivian, Louisiana and was the fourth child of Ernest and Mamie Jeter. She passed from this life on February 12, 2012 at the age of 84. She is survived by her husband, Wayne Atkins; three sons, Michael, Glenn, and Chris; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Nell and Wayne were married for 64 wonderful years, having met at Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana. Nell was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, and an active member of Resurrection Lutheran Church of Spring, TX.
A visitation will be held at Forest Park Funeral Home, The Woodlands, TX on February 15th, from 7 – 9 pm; a private family burial will be held February 16th, at 10 am, Budde Cemetery; and, a memorial service will be held at Resurrection Lutheran Church, Spring, TX on February 17th at 10:30 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Resurrection Lutheran Church of Spring, TX in memory of Nell Atkins.
