She came to The United States in 1960 when she was only 18 years old and arrived in Miami, Florida.
She lived in Miami for years and moved to Coconut Grove. She worked as a legal secretary and then for an attorney, who was involved in politics and she traveled to the state capitol Tallahassee many times. She was very adventurous for she drove all through South America with a girlfriend and then hired on with British Airways in the Miami office and worked there for many years.She used British Airways benefits to travel to Europe and many other continents.
Mary transferred to Chicago when British airways MIA office closed and worked as the manager of rates and marine desk from 1985-1990. When British Airways purchased British Caledonian Airlines the Chicago office closed and she was transferred to Houston. Where she worked in management from 1990 until 2001 when she retired.
Mary was a gentle loving person and especially loved all animals, especially her beloved cats, they were her family.Mary was an only child. Her only family is elderly cousins in Scotland and a cousin in The United Kingdom.
She lived on a pond in The Woodlands and loved to feed the ducks-in fact the ducks would see her car and would race from one side of the pond to the other to be fed. She purchased special feed for the ducks, stray cats and other animals.
She loved nature and was a social person who enjoyed her weekly Thursday evenings with her group of friends. Saturday lunches at Babins, and every other Friday lunches with special friends.
She volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul food pantry every other Monday and Interfaith food pantry every Wednesday. Mary was active in International Friends for years and served as secretary and other offices in this organization. She was a longtime member of St. Simon & Jude Catholic Church and will be greatly missed.
Memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 11:00am at St. Simon & Jude Catholic Church, 26777 Glen Loch Dr., Spring, TX 77381, followed by an inurnment at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home and Cemetery, 18000 I-45S, The Woodlands, TX 77384.
