

Martin "Marty" W. Massey, age 58, passed away at his home in The Woodlands, Texas, on Monday, July 24, 2017. He was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on August 29, 1958. He spent most of his childhood in East Feliciana Parish and was a 1976 graduate of Silliman Institute. Marty went on to graduate from Louisiana State University with a degree in Petroleum Engineering in 1980. On August 9, 1980, he married his high school sweetheart, Pamela DeLee. Marty and Pam enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling together, and attending LSU football games. Marty worked for ExxonMobil for 35 years and finished his career as CEO of Marine Well Containment. Together, he and his wife created "The Pam and Marty Massey Scholarship," honoring LSU legacy player Marcus Spears and "The Pam and Marty Massey East Feliciana Scholarship," selecting a local student from the parish.
Marty is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 35 years, Pam Massey; his four children, Dr. Christen Massey and her husband, Matthew Sine, Michaela King and her husband, Neal King, Dillon Massey, and Mariah Massey; his four grandchildren, Tyler King, Parker Sine, Greyson King, and Mylène Sine; his mother, Jimmie Darbonne; his siblings, Kathy Bergeron and her husband, Johnny Bergeron, Sherri Jones, Roger Massey and his wife, Gayle Massey; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Carroll Massey, and his wife's parents, Isaac and Marie DeLee.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 27, at 6:00 p.m. at The Woodlands United Methodist Church - Robb Chapel. The family will greet friends beginning at 5:00 p.m. in Aldersgate Hall until the time of service.
