Martha Jordan passed away on December 8, 2014. She was born Martha Morton in Salina, Kansas on January 6, 1934. She was preceded in death by her husband Lt. Colonel James G. Jordan, whom she wed in Mannheim, Germany on December 7, 1957. Martha was raised in Wichita, Kansas. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas. She met her husband “Jim” while serving as civilian support staff for the U.S. Army. After Army life allowed her family to settle down in Stillwater, Oklahoma she went on to obtain a Masters in Counseling and a Doctorate in Education from Oklahoma State University. She dedicated many years of service to the Career Counseling Center at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. After retirement she moved to the Woodlands, Texas where she excelled as a competitive swimmer in the Masters division with the Woodlands Aquatic Club. She was an avid reader and loved to travel both domestically and internationally. Her excursions took her as far as China, Russia, South America, New Zealand and Australia. Martha is survived by her sister Virginia Fortney and her husband Ken of Boca Grande, Florida; her children Dr. James D. Jordan and his wife Dr. Sheila Kennedy-Jordan of Paradise, Texas and their children Lauren and Daniel; David L. Jordan of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and his children Hunter and Carley; Dr. Scott H. Jordan and his wife Cathy of Marquette, Michigan; Ann K. Kampschmidt and her husband Dr. Kit Kampschmidt of Houston, Texas and their children Jordan and Erin. Visitation with the family and a celebration of Martha’s life will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday December 13th at The Conservatory at Alden Bridge, 6203 Alden Bridge Drive, The Woodlands, Texas 77382. Martha held a deep belief in the power of higher education, in honor of that belief, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent in Memory of Martha L. Jordan to the ‘James G.
