Marc Henderson’s career in the oilfield service industry spanned approximately 42 years. In this time and starting at a true “wrench and hammer” position he rose to hold several different positions, up to Vice President with at least 8 service companies.
His ability to grasp the technology, processes and protocols of the equipment and services provided, and quickly, was a testament to how sharp he was. His career started in the pencil and paper era and moved swiftly along the computer technology path with all of its nuances across the years. Not one to be intimidated by change, Marc picked up the knowledge and the skill sets to become proficient in the application of same to his work tasks. With his field and operations background, this allowed him to span the gap between the old and new as to doing business as more of the client engineers and superintendents became younger as well as being still able to respond to the older seasoned clients that grew up in the same early years as he had.
He traveled all across the North American landscape in his career and then went abroad when opportunity presented itself. The opportunity to participate in one of the most significant oilfield events in history found him involved when the Kuwaiti oilfield were set aflame and he was one of many from the United States and other countries sent to extinguish the fires and cap the wells.
He then traveled to Europe on management assignment for major service companies for several years. This allowed him to bring his wonderful wife Patti with him and together they were able to explore a different part of the world and its variety of cultural traits and traditions. And, he returned to the United States and worked until his passing in the only industry that he has known for those 42 years. He would not think there is anything special about what he did for a living and such, but what makes it special is what all who have worked so long in the same line of work find when they look back…..the people that they have met, the friends that they have made, the events and places that they were able to participate in and visit……and to be able to revisit the memories of it all.
Marc is survived by his wife of 35 years Patty, two sons Marc and Zack, mother Annabelle, and brother Todd.
