Lori Kay Robinson Winston Defee, daughter of Darrell and Kathleen Robinson, was born November 9, 1962 in Big Spring, Texas. As a pastor’s daughter, she lived in Big Spring and Amarillo, TX, Liberal, KS, Vernon and Pasadena, TX. As a young child, she prayed to receive Christ as her Savior with her Daddy at home. At eight years of age, Lori made a public profession of faith and was baptized at First Baptist Church Vernon.
Lori graduated in 1981 from Sam Raybon High School in Pasadena, TX where she was active in cheer, choir, and First Baptist Pasadena youth group. After attending Houston Baptist University for one year, she transferred to Baylor University and graduated in 1986 with a BA in Fashion Arts. After working for Neiman Marcus in Dallas, TX, she moved to Chicago, IL and in 1994 earned her MA in Counseling from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Her work with the Chicago Crisis Pregnancy Center and RAPHA Counseling brought much healing and purpose in Lori’s life.
Her daughter, Kathleen Cosette Winston, born on Easter Sunday, April 12, 1998 in Chicago, IL was the joy of her life. Before the end of 1998, the family moved to The Woodlands, TX where the second joy of Lori’s life happened with the birth of her son, Christian Robinson Winston, born October 31, 2001.
In May of 2013, Lori married her dear friend and love, Eddy Defee, who has been faithful and by her side as she has bravely and diligently battled the disease of cancer for the last six years. On October 19, 2019 at 3am, Lori received her ultimate healing when she met her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ face to face.
Lori is survived by her loving husband, Eddy Defee, her children, Katie and Christian Winston, and her devoted parents, Darrell and Kathy Robinson.
She was dearly loved by her brothers and their families: Duane &Connie Robinson (Matthew Robinson and sons, Blakely & Scott Sumners and children) Robin &Jody Robinson (Ryan and Rachel Robinson) Loren &Kathryn Robinson (Kimberly &Daniel Valles and son, Natalie &Alex Adame and daughter, Olivia, Tabitha, and Sophia Robinson) She will be missed by many aunts, uncles, and cousins as well as many dear friends who have prayed and loved her throughout her life.
Visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church, 7500 Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena on Friday, October 25 from 6-9PM with a celebration of life to follow in the church on Saturday, October 26 at 10AM.
