Linda Fern Woods

She was married to Randall L. Woods on June 12, 1993.

Linda had a career in tourism and event planning, she was the Director of Shenandoah Convention & Visitor Center where she retired after 14 years. She served as President of the 35 county Forest Trail Region and the Texas Historical Commission, Montgomery County Women's Center, The Woodlands Symphony Orchestra, Montgomery County United Way, and Special Olympics. She was instrumental in bringing the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championship in 2013 to Shenandoah, Texas. Linda was the Ambassador's Committee of S. Montgomery County, she was one of the founding members of the South Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce and she worked for former Precinct 3 commissioner Ed Chance at The Big Event. She also helped to get Shenandoah incorporated in 1973.

She was proceeded in death by her father, Bennie C. Smith.

Linda is survived by her mother; Dodie Welch, husband; Randall Woods, children; Ben and wife Nicole, Boyde, grand-children, Bryttin Boyde, Brayson Boyde, step-children; Robin husband Randy Akins, Kelley wife Karly Woods, Christy husband Howard Hines, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sisters; Saundra Whiddon husband Bill, Donna husband Ken Ables, Debbie husband Chris Haver, caregivers; Andria Davis, Sycura Hayes, Amaiya Davis and Noe Davis along with other relatives and friends.

Funeral services are set for Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at 11:00am at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home Chapel, 18000 I-45S, The Woodlands, Texas, 77384 with a reception to follow.
