Lillian Pawlik Hargis, 83, passed away on January 28th, 2015 in The Woodlands, Tx. To know Lillian was to know someone special. She was a kind and caring person devoted to her large family and her Catholic faith. She was born in Falls City, Tx to John D. and Florence Ann Pawlik on January 20, 1932.
She was an active member in The Assistance League of Houston for over 20 years, treasurer of the Buy Low Babes Investment Club, and volunteered in the Houston Open Golf Tournament for many years. She had a love of travel and music and was a tour guide for Dan Dipert Tours traveling extensively in the US, Canada and Europe. She and her husband moved to The Woodlands in 1992 and shortly afterwards joined the Pavilion Partners. Both Jesse and Lillian were awarded the “Volunteer of the Year” Award in 2013 after 20 years of service to the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion.
She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Jesse Hargis Jr of The Woodlands; daughter, Janice Staub (Randy) of West Vancouver, BC; son, Terry (Yvonne) of Canton, MS; grandson, Maxwell Hargis; granddaughter, Molly Staub; step grandchildren, Julia and Sophia; five brothers, Dan (Melba), John, Emil (Karen), Wilfred, and Bobby (Peggy); sister, Mary Louise (Ken) Johnson; and sisters-in-law, Marietta Bell Pawlik and Mary Pfeifer Pawlik. Nieces and Nephews include: Bobby, Johnny, Eddie (Robin), Rob (Susan), Danny (Nancy), Mike (Carol), Steve, Cindy (Paul) Sorensen, Karen Robinson, Pauline, Sandy (Robert) Gonzalez, Ginger ( Rick) Dernehl, Mary Lou Fragile, Jimmy (Holly), Toni (Travis) Schaar, Cheryl (Joe) Flood, Jo Ella (Robert) Wagner, Tim (Carrie), Jim and Kerry Johnson, Michael (Jamie), Debbie (Drew) Hanson, Jeff (Nicole), Suzy (Matt) Colbert, Will, Lory (Ricardo) Suzuki, Randall (Lisa), Debbie Hargis, Pat Hargis, and Jim (Eileen) Walker.
Lillian is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Chester Louis, Louis Anton, Leonard and Arnold James; and, sisters-in-law, Ann Wasson Pawlik, Marianne Bell Pawlik and Kandee Robinson Pawlik.
